Ameesha Patel’s Domestic Help Arrested for Rs 5 Lakh Diamond Bangle Theft in Mumbai
Mumbai Police have arrested a 40-year-old domestic worker, Seema Ghate, for allegedly stealing a diamond-studded gold bangle valued at Rs 5 lakh from the Churchgate residence of Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel’s parents. The theft took place at the apartment belonging to Asha and Amit Patel.
According to the police complaint filed by Asha Patel, the incident occurred in January.
The family initially withheld immediate legal action, spending months privately urging the accused to return the valuable jewellery.
After the worker repeatedly denied the allegations and refused to cooperate, the family escalated the matter to the Marine Drive Police Station, registering a formal case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
A police crime detection team tracked down and apprehended the accused in Virar, subsequently presenting her before a local court, which remanded her to police custody.
Investigators are currently searching for the missing bangle and verifying whether the suspect has any previous criminal record.
