The expressway will stretch from Meerut to Prayagraj and will pass through 12 districts of the state. It is expected to provide a much-needed boost to the economy of the region and will also make it easier for pilgrims to reach Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela.

The original completion deadline for the project is December 2025, but the government has asked the developers to complete it by the end of 2024. The developers have been promised financial incentives if they are able to meet the deadline.

It will also be a boon for the pilgrims who will be attending the Maha Kumbh Mela in 2025.

The construction of the Ganga Expressway is on track, with the developers having completed 25% of the earthwork in just five months. The expressway, which is being built on a public-private partnership (PPP) model, is expected to be completed by December 2024.
