Uttarakhand minister Harak Singh Rawat sacked from state cabinet, expelled from BJP

Dehradun : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has dismissed state forest minister Harak Singh Rawat from the Cabinet, the Chief Minister's Office informed on Sunday. Harak Singh Rawat, MLA from Kotdwar, has also been expelled from the BJP for a period of six years.

Rawat reportedly wanted to change his constituency and was also seeking a ticket for his daughter-in-law Anukriti Gusain from the Lansdowne.

Harak Singh Rawat is likely to join the Congress on Monday in the presence of Harish Rawat and other senior party leaders.

Sources said CM Dhami had written to the Governor recommending that Harak Singh Rawat be removed from the Uttarakhand Cabinet.

He has purportedly been removed from the Cabinet and the party's primary membership after he met with some Congress leaders ahead of the upcoming Assembly election. He reportedly visited Delhi on Sunday.

Harak Singh Rawat is likely to join the Congress at 12 noon on Monday in the presence of former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat and Uttarakhand Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal.
